The La
Crosse & District Pipes and Drums is a Scottish pipe
and drum band. Our humble beginnings were in La Crosse, Wisconsin, in
the early 1970's.
Also known as the La Crosse Highlanders, the band
currently has approximately 28 members, and new members are always
welcome. Our band tartan is the Campbell of Cawdor.
We march in local parades and can be hired for various occasions when
the event calls for unique and exciting entertainment.
Every January since 1978, it has become the La Crosse Highlander's
custom to plan, sponsor, and perform in a local event called the "Robert
Burns Supper". The dinner and ceremony commemorates the
famous Scottish poet, Robert
Burns;
and celebrates Scottish heritage and tradition.
